Ice silo is a unique equipment for thermal storage. IDMC manufactures ice silo in technical collaboration with Tankki OY, Finland. This represents a new approach to the availability of continuous flow of ice water for the industry.

Ice silo system is energy efficient and allows quick melting of ice, thereby meeting large peak load requirements. The counter flow of water to the ice silo tank and circular orbit pattern of the water circulation in the silo tank ensure quick melting of ice. The ice bank silo can be delivered with an evaporator surface area between 50- 900m2 equivalent to 400-7000 meter of steel pipe.

The ice bank silo system consisting of evaporator coil is installed in SS housing. The evaporator coils are made from SS tubes, which are formed in an automatic pipe bending machine. The silo is made from stainless steel sheet insulated with polyurethane foam and covered with SS/GI plain or corrugated sheet. The evaporator coils are divided into several coil sections. Each coil section works independently and is tested at our works before shipment.

The ice bank silo can be connected in parallel or series to the existing ice bank distribution system. The clean surface of SS pipe improves heat transfer and gives hygeinic quality ice water.
