IDMC undertakes conversion of gravity systems into liquid overfeed systems.
In gravity system the refrigerant flows to the evaporator by gravity from accumulator however in case of liquid overfeed system the refrigerant is circulated through liquid refrigerant pump.
The advantages of liquid overfeed system are many fold;
The evaporator can be remotely located from accumulator so in case of leakage isolation is easy and refrigerant leakage is minimal and can be arrested very fast.
For multi evaporator system single accumulator can serve the purpose thereby reducing accumulators cost and controls & instrumentation cost.
It is ideal for vertical Ice Bank Silo systems.
It prevents oil carry over to ice accumulating coils and other evaporators.
It saves tremendous power in vacuum systems operating at (-) 33 O C evaporating temperatures and below.
